With Poet / Songwriter / Storyteller John Terlazzo In the Catoctin Mountains near Frederick, MD.
We've gathered for this Contemplative Writing Retreat for more than 25 years now, and we're welcoming you to come & join us - again, or for the first time - for a gathering that has always shown itself to be Wondrous, Joyful and Inspiring. We will gather at the Quaker-owned Camp Catoctin in the mountains near Thurmont and Frederick, MD. The camp offers a spacious dining and session area, lots of cabins to spread out in and plenty of tent sites, large bathrooms and bath houses with hot water showers, spacious kitchen, a beautiful pond, creek exploration and hiking.
We'll share together in the experiences of Contemplative Writing Experiments, Chanting and Kirtan with harmonium and guitar, the practice of Sitting Meditation and more. We'll move deeply into the rich loam and ancient archetypes present in old mythologies and folktales from many of the cultures on this old Earth, and we'll sing and dance and laugh, whisper, wander, write, wail and read aloud on these beautifully forested mountains.
There will be ample opportunity for participants to read their work aloud, or listen as they like. As always, the retreat is OPEN TO BOTH EXPERIENCED & FIRST-TIME WRITERS ALIKE, and is uniquely designed to accommodate both in an atmosphere that is simultaneously safe & welcoming on one hand, and energetically stimulating & challenging on the other. The price for this year's Retreat is still only $150 (if registered / paid by August 31st - after that it's $180), and includes all activities, lodging Friday & Saturday nights, 3 delicious vegetarian meals on Saturday, as well as breakfast & lunch on Sunday.
